Your Guide:
Hi, my name is Victor Escobar. I was born in Iquitos in 1986 but grew up in a small village in the Amazon jungle near Peru/Brasil border, where I was raised by my grandparents. They taught me all the survival skills you need in the jungle. When I was older, I studied Peruvian and Latin American history, specifically history of the Peruvian jungle. During that time I also studied English and Portuguese.
I am now fully enjoying my work as a guide, showing and teaching all the people of the world about our flora and fauna, how important it is that we protect it, and all the amazing things we can do with the plants and animals of our jungle. I also work very closely with people of the local villages near the lodge. As often as I can, I bring school supplies for the children with donations that visitors are kind enough to send. And when there is opportunity for employment, I offer jobs to the people in the villages nearby.
